Kindergarten

The kindergarten team would like to welcome you and your child to Glacier Hills Arts and Science Magnet School. We are thrilled your child will be starting Kindergarten this year and hope to make his/her first year exciting and fun. For many children this is the first formal school experience.

Kindergarten encourages the growth of problem solving, decision making and communication skills, supports cooperative learning, socialization, healthy self-esteem and creativity. Growth occurs as children actively participate in concrete, hands-on activities each day. Play is an important part of the kindergarten program. There are strong links between creative play and language development, physical, cognitive and social skills.

Our curriculum follows state standards and district frameworks and standards. As skills and concepts are taught, there will be more emphasis placed in the areas of science and art.

There are two choices available for kindergarten students. There is an all day program called KPlus and a morning and afternoon half day session. The afternoon part of the all day program is offered through community ed and has a fee.

Voicemail - Each teacher has his/her own voice mail number which allows you to leave messages throughout the day and in the evening. Dial 651-683-6969 and enter the correct extention.
