Youth Enrichment
District 196 Youth Enrichment is a fee supported program that offers affordable classes throughout the year based on student interests. The goal of Youth Enrichment is to provide opportunities for youth to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve their social skills in an informal, fun and safe environment. Classes are offered for youth ages 2-18 on evenings, weekends and during the day throughout the summer. From babysitter’s training, to martial arts, dance, arts and crafts and gymnastics, Youth Enrichment has something for everyone! Instructor of the Quarter
Jason Passeri, Community Education Gymnastics and Fitness Fun instructor, has been coaching for 15 years. His 13 years in District 196 has won him Midwest Amateur Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2009. In 2009 he was selected Section 3AA High School Coach of the Year. Jason enjoys all aspects of fitness. He has competed in 35 power-lifting meets and holds the Minnesota State Record for Bench Press in the 181-pound weight class. He loves football and is a huge Vikings and Colts fan. Jason has been happily married to Shelly for ten years and has two daughters, Arianna and Olivia. They enjoy family bike rides, taking walks and spending time at the water park.
