GT Cluster Classroom Survey Results
During the spring of 2009, all identified gifted and talented (GT) students, their parents and classroom teachers were given the opportunity to participate in an evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the classroom component of the Gifted and Talented model. The evaluation consisted of online surveys for all participants except principals who participated in focus groups facilitated by the Director of Teaching and Learning. In addition, at the middle school level, seventeen focus groups consisting of ten to fourteen random GT students per grade responded to follow-up questions from the student survey. Six elementary schools also had students randomly selected to participate in focus groups. The following district-wide trends were identified from each of the stakeholder groups.
