ROSEMOUNT, Minn. -- The Eagan High School boys' and Eastview High School girls' Nordic ski teams won their respective section tournaments Feb. 8 to qualify for the state tournaments Feb. 16 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. Five District 196 students also qualified as individuals for the state boys' and girls' alpine ski tournaments, which will be held Feb. 15 at Giants Ridge.
Members of the Eagan boys' Nordic team who will be competing at state are Patrick Acton, Ryan Conroy, Jaeden Danko, Brian Dilla, Max Marshall, Andrew Lowder, Jack Martin, Dylan Schuller and Ryan Steger. Bryant Ruff of Eastview qualified for state as an individual.
Members of the Eastview girls' Nordic ski team who will be competing at state are Ana Brakke, Haley Challgren, Kareena Clendening, Kirana Gunawan, Serena Hall, Gabrielle Kraemer, Claire Nack, Josie Roberts and Anna Schumann.
State qualifiers in alpine skiing are Mark Biechler and Renee Boldus of Rosemount High School, Izak Hofstad and Camden Palmquist representing Eagan and Kate Young representing Eastview.
District 196 serves approximately 27,000 students in early childhood, K-12 and special education programs combined, and offers community education programs for residents of all ages.
